I have always loved the 1943 Western Pacific FT early paint scheme of yellow and green. It did not last long because the yellow faded away after only months in the scalding hot California Sun. By 1944 WP quickly started repainting the FT's in the more traditional orange, silver and black. Here is a 3-rail FT B unit that I recently converted to 2-rail.
Here are a few quick photos of my 1/32 scale Daytona International Speedway, the features our: 1) R-oval track around the outside, Road-course in the middle, both courses can be run in either direction. 2) Operating pit lane 3) Computer timing and lap counting 4) Goodyear blimp 5) Garage area, medical facility, announcers booth, grandstands, camping area (coming soon!), parking area (coming soon!) 6) 500+ slot cars, mostly pre-1950 Grand Prix and 1950+ Formula 1, also many road cars 7) Pacecar, medical car, fire car 8) More to come soon, I am about to remodel the scenery.
Some time I will stage "Historical Races" like I did in 2011 with these photos below. First picture is pre-race staging in the pitlane, cars our models of from left to right, 1936 Auto Union (Audi today)(1936 Champion) in oval configuration with only 4 tires, 1940 Alfa Romeo (never raced due to outbreak of WWII, Grand-Prix racing did not return until 1946), 1936 Auto Union (1936 Champion) in hill-climb configuration, see the duel rear tires, 1932 Alfa Romeo (1932 Champion), 1931 Alfa Romeo (1931 Champion) car should be red not blue, 1937 Mercedes-Benz (1937 Champion) in yellow, since repainted to the correct color of white, and last in line 1930 Bentley (1930 Champion). In this era of racing, car color was determined by country of manufacture, green for British cars, white or silver cars for Germany, blue cars for France and red for Italy.

Lap 1, turn 2, Audi Union leads the Alfa Romeo.
50 laps later, the podium is 1st) 1936 Auto Union, 2nd) 1940 Alfa Romeo, 3rd) 1937 Mercedes-Benz.
Here is race 2 of my 2011 Historic Races. These are 1950's Formula 1 cars.
The grid, red #1 1957 Maserati, red #14 1956 Lancia-Ferrari, silver #6 1955 Mercedes-Benz, blue #26 1956 Maserati, light blue #30 1956 Gordini, red #4 1955 Ferrari, green #5 1958 BRM, green #7 1959 BRM, white #32 1957 Maserati, green and yellow nose #10 1957 Vanwall, blue #28 1956 Bugatti, blue #7 1959 Cooper, red #17 1956 Ferrari, red #2, green and yellow nose #5 1958 Vanwall.
They are off into turn 2, lap 1, the 1957 Maserati has the lead, with the 1956 Maserati in position to take second from the 1955 Mercedes, looks like the 1956 Lancia-Ferrari got a bad start slipping from p2 to p4 on the start.
The back end of the grid gets going.
Lap 12, 1957 Maserati still leads, but the 1955 Mercedes re-passed the 1956 blue Maserati and is now putting lots of pressure on the lead car. The Lancia-Ferrari remains in fourth.
Lap 21 action down the grid, a big battle for 7th spot, 1955 Ferrari leads, 1959 BRM followed by 1958 BRM.
Lots of racing action into turn 4!
Lap 36, the 1957 Maserati starts to stretch its legs!
More lap 37 action down the garage straight.
Lap 38, there's been an incident in turn 11! The 1955 Ferrari is pointed the wrong way and both the 1956 Bugatti and 1957 Vanwall are in the fence!
Lap 39 under yellow, all three cars are out of the race.

Mark's custom repaint to create a 1980 Fittipaldi F8 Formula 1 car. He started wtih late 70's Brabham and modified several details, then a total repaint and custom decals.
Mark's very rare John Surtee's 1964 blue and white Championship winning Ferrari 158. This is resin kit produced in the UK, only 10 where made.
Mark's 1/32 Scale Resin Cast 1970 Ford-Matra MS120 slot car. Again paper clip suspension bars, and he had to make his decals. Body cast in the UK.
1/32 Scale 1975 Hesketh 308B Formula 1 car Mark scratch built with a lexan body and exhaust pipes made out of a paper clip. He also had to make his own decals for the car. Body was sourced from Australia.
